Nordic Film Festival: Los Angeles
Nordic Concepts Institute presents a new annual international film festival celebrating the best of Nordic cinema from Denmark (DK), Sweden (SE), Norway (NO), Finland (FI), Iceland (IS), Faroe Islands (FO), Greenland (GL) and the Sapmí Region, to be held November 5-8, 2026.
The Nordic Film Festival Los Angeles (NFFLA) presents a curated selection of Nordic projects that includes features, shorts, documentary, animation. The series is strategically staged in Los Angeles around the weekend before the American Film Market and in time for Awards Season screenings, creating a bridge between Nordic storytelling and the international film industry.
NFFLA is founded by Christian D. Bruun, Gudrun Giddings, and cofounded by festival director Tina Jøhnk Christensen and artistic director Kirpi Uimonen, with Erik Steigen serving as communications director.

In addition to screenings, the festival hosts conversations, panels, and cultural events focused on the Nordic approach to filmmaking and storytelling.
Danish Originals
Nordic Concepts Institute is the fiscal sponsor for the weekly podcast series that spotlights Danes who have made a significant impact in the US in the areas of creativity, originality, and innovation. Danish Originals serves as both a cultural archive and a contemporary platform, capturing ideas, practices, and perspectives that define Danish creativity today.
The weekly series is directed by Christian D. Bruun and hosted by Tina Jøhnk Christensen along with Gregers Heering, Asger Hussain, Finn-Olaf Jones, Nicolai Rottbøll, and Carsten "Soulshock" Schack. It is produced by Teresa Lai, mastered by Shaun Hettinger and Greg Williams, with original music by Joachim Svare, and executive produced by Christian D. Bruun and Tina Jøhnk Christensen, with Nicolai Rottbøll as strategic advisor and Hanne Støvring as consulting producer.
Begun in 2024, the current season, Season 11, features Samuel Rachlin, Mette Lampcov, Pernille Ipsen, Rufus Gifford, Frederikke Møller, Maiken Baird, Ilya Katsnelson, Jens Honoré, Lena Torslow Hansen, and Mads Tolling.
The series reaches an international audience while maintaining an intimate and thoughtful tone. And select episodes of Danish Originals are available on long-haul inflight entertainment with Scandinavian Airlines.
